Making the water hotter doesn't make the hot last longer, not addressing the root cause. As is the case with most "apartment maintenance"

Awesome video. It worked! I had a resident who had the same issue and when I checked the water heater the temperature was set at 110 degrees. I turned both thermostats up to 125 degrees and I haven't heard anything back from them so when I saw them the other day I asked how the hot water was and they said perfect and it's lasting the whole shower now. So thank you for this video. I didn't think by turning the temperature up would make it last longer but it makes sense if the water isn't that hot to begin with and someone starts using it and cool water starts entering the tank to fill it back up it's really going to make the water cool off faster. If the water in the tank is hotter and once the cool water starts entering to refill it's going to take longer to cool off the hot water that's in the tank.

I have a brand new AO smith 38 small unit. Right out the box tested everything with multimeter, checked voltage 240V, checked thermostats and elements everything great out the box. Let tank fill up, all air out hot water lines waited another 45 minutes turned power back on. Still no hot water going on 3 days. Any suggestions?

This is what is called a “call back”. Even though water is hot the problem could be a dip tube an element or a thermostat. This kind of work hurts the industry but thanks for posting anyway

how can it be good if it just started running out of hot water? Shouldn't there be a diagnosis of the cause?

The bottom one was on high the top one says a b and c it was set as cold as you can set it i didn't know to check that I set it below b says b is 140 degree's worked thanks for the video

How long is it working good for? Art if it's running out of water fast 510 minutes you might want to look at your dip too

How you doing I've seen your video and I just have to ask the question and the question is with the temperature gauge already up from the last person that put it in there and the water is still running cold what could be the problem sink is running good hot water but when you're taking a shower I say within the next 15 minutes the water starts to get cold now I understand that it's a 30 gallon tank but it shouldn't get cold that fast any suggestions I most appreciate it on the temperature setting is on very high I should say very hot

Shifted to this apt. recently.
Hot water runs out after 5-10mins
Temp is on 140
Can you explain what's going on?
And what significance does this upper and lower temperature hold?
I mean the water heater is heating up quick, but doesn't keep up with time.
Is there any solution? My apt maintenance guy said nothing wrong with the heater, but I think he is just ignoring the problem.
We don't take long showers, but two people can't have a bath one after the other.

Yeah man I like the channel and respect what you do appreciate the tips and advise keep up the good work my boi and it's always an extra reward fixing something that is broken when somebody needs help yes we have to make a living but it's what we were born to do wishing the best for all of who can make it happen

Why didn't you fill up the bath? Just because it's hot at the faucet for the 5 seconds that you had it running, doesn't mean just simply turning it up "fixed" it. My hot water is usually gone after washing a single load of laundry, but it takes longer than 5 seconds to fill it up, and my temp is at around 130. So, your "test" isn't very accurate, or helpful. Everyone's water seems to turn cold. Mine doesn't move. It doesn't start running till sunset. Then, no problem at all. I just have to wait the whole day.
