Scott is the first African-American Senator for South Carolina and has held the position since 2013. He previously served as a member of the House of Representatives for two terms and is the first African-American to serve in both Chambers of Congress. Scott also served on the Charleston County Council and the South Carolina General Assembly. In addition, he has achieved success in the world of business and is a Partner in Pathway Real Estate Group, LLC, in addition to having set up his own insurance company.

I went to Tim Scott's Charleston office for help with a government agency... given form to fill out - staff would not meet with me- did not want to see documentation – turned form in and staffer went back to closed off area - will not return letters emails or phone messages

Income inequality measures ignore the inequality that one person has over the course of their life as their intellectual capital increases from education, and experience bring, and with the capital equipment they use.
