very late comment I know, this has recently turned into my favorite song of all time, even though I myself do not relate to the story behind the song, that still doesn't excuse the fact that this is definitely a masterpiece of a song, everything from the vocals, piano, and raw emotion that clearly went in to this, brings a tear to my eye in the best way possible.

I love this song, I've kept on repeat on Spotify the last couple of days.

For me personally, I change the lyrics from being "Dear mom" to "Dear dad" because this way the song feels more personal to me.. My dad has been absent almost my entire life and the older I got the more I heard about the shitty and shady stuff he was up to.. I hate him, so yeah.. This song is very emotional and personal for me so thank you guys for this amazing piece of music!
