Gabby Lopez' American citizenship a non-issue, says Rep. Lagman | ANC

The American citizenship of ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Gabby Lopez is a "non-issue" because he is a natural-born Filipino since he is born to Filipino parents, Rep. Edcel Lagman said Wednesday. The House of Representatives quizzed Lopez on his citizenship as the chamber resumed its hearing on the ABS-CBN franchise.

If you are a Pilipino and u migrate in USA and if you want to be a US citizen you will need to apply for citizenship and you will need to be interview and if you pass the interview you will be take an oath to be US citizen. Then they will give your citizenship. But if you were born in USA, you don’t need to take an oath to this country because you are born there. I believe Mr. Gabby Lopez that he don’t took an oath under US government . I have relatives who were born in US, they don’t need to apply to be US citizen and they don’t need to take an oath to become US citizen, because they are US citizen. At sa pagapply ng passport, they will not question you if you have a US birth certificate. Just sent all requirement thru post office, after Two months you will get ur passport. Mr. Gabby Lopez telling the truth he don’t took an oath to US government . And I believe he is Pilipino because his parent are both Pilipino.

By blood Mr. Gabi Lopez is 100% Pilipino since both parents are Pilipino. By citizenship he is both Pilipino ang American, "note" dual means two. One for being a Filipino and the other as american. Not 50% american ang 50% Pilipino.

when you apply for a US passport you have to submit a proof of US citizenship.... and he did.... so technically he is also a US citizen ... hmmmm.
