The point is that Barbie can be smart and beautiful but doesn’t have to have written a book or be perfect to be either of those things. She can be “stereotypical Barbie” as opposed to a “leadership oriented barbie” and still make positive contributions. She can know about fascism without having to be a politician. It’s the idea that women don’t have to be EXTRAORDINARY to have value beyond stereotypical beauty.
