It's so true that Ellie Goulding owns a very original voice & uses it as an instrument to deliver emotions to the listeners, Lights is a good example of it. Also she is now a more matured vocalist ! At the bridge 03:18, she beautifully expressed the melancholic emotions of the song with her voice. Even in operatic vocals, she is a maestro (watch her live cover of All I Want) sadly she rarely shows it.
