Why Is The Mother Otter Bringing Me Her Pups?

It is their way of showing how comfortable they feel around me and how much trust goes into my relationship. It could also be that the momma is extremely proud of her pups and she simply wants to show them off.

I personally have the opinion that the Asian Short-Clawed Otter was domesticated by the Khmers and became wild again after their empire fell. How many other wild species integrate so well with humans? The geographical extent of the short-claw otter distribution matches the territory and certainly trading circle of the Khmer empire very closely. This wild otter mother trusting a human enough to bring her baby to be looked after is unheard of elsewhere in the animal kingdom. We only see this behaviour in domesticated animals.
