a rotational wind up would take power away from the throw. you should compare the flashy stuff to your typical byzantine or figure 8 throw, those are much more powerful than helicoptering it.

Awesome video. 👍👍 For a while, I've been wondering if you've ever tried any of the throws with extreme economy of motion, like the kind the military slingers would have used, to allow themselves the maximum number of throws, with no wasted effort? I've seen illustrated on vases and such (and tried, myself) the one where you start by holding the pouch in front of you with your off hand, then send it back over your head, and release it as it comes around to the front. Not sure if that made any sense. 8-/ Either way, you're doing fantastic work, sir.
