The balconies to traverse immediately shouted halo-style jumping

In other words: the dungeon was built to host a certain practical use for actual people, not just to be a dangerous corridor for a party of adventurers. When designing a dungeon, be an architect.
Great tip!

Also, just because they've "cleared" the looping path doesn't mean some unseen enemy couldn't have been going around hiding at the same time as they were circling around.

yeah... I did this to an unhealthy extreme in one campaign. Players complained about the 'dungeons' being too linear... So the next map was the inside of a cube with platforms and real looking stairs.
the figures had metal in the bases so the platforms and walls was thin enough to stick a small magnet on the other side.
Players started making guides for attacks like adjustable cones and using string to see if they could hit the goblin on the 'ceiling'
They were so glad to get out of "Mynari's confined tower." Mostly due to finding tons of loot from previous adventurers that didn't make it.

I love your map videos and the "simple" art style (short lines, straight hashing for shading, immediately recognizable, non-intricate symbols, etc.) that helps make map making accessible even to someone with no artistic talent like me!

I appreciate the holes and balconies! I always forget to add them when I’m just improving a dungeon and my players seem to like them!

I had no idea what you were talking about in the title and thought I was misremembering Jamiroquai, so I immediately thought that you were gonna talk about dungeons with moving floors.

Great tips! I definitely want to use these when designing my next dungeon.

Drawing maps with a sharpie, no going back! Only "happy accidents", right?

You are a hero for writing her name correctly. A bunch of articles and stuff call it jaquaying but her name is Jaquays and this jaquaysing is the correct word.

That's a neat trick! I'll have to remember that when I create a dungeon. 😅

The way that I would do it is draw out the areas as the players get to them so as they approach the hallway you draw it out and the directions it turns

When I created my first campaign for my kids I had no idea this was a “thing”. I just wanted to give them lots of nooks & crannies & paths & high/lows to explore, yet make it easy to get back to the start if they got lost.

You should do a video on how to properly clean the battle map after done using it
