Why are there three generations of fermions?

All ordinary matter, include every atom in your body, is composed of just 3 different fermions: electrons and two types of quark, called up and down. The strange thing is that this triplet is just the first of 3 generations of particles, each heavier than the one before. The second- and third-generation particles are very short-lived and quickly transform into their lighter, stable counterparts. But apart from their mass and lifetimes, there’s really no difference between the three generations. It’s as if the laws of nature were written in triplicate. Why is that?

I love most of your excellent videos. This was one of the best!!

Is there strong evidence against further generations of particles? How certain are physicists that there's no fourth (or higher) generations at higher energy?

On how the quark masses come about from their passage through the Higgs field, can the Higgs field in this way be thought of as a kind of "aether" but for quarks instead of light?

"It's as if the laws of nature were written in triplicate." Think about a simple arithmetic fact: 3 times 24 = 72. Does the preceding simple fact have something to do with the Standard Model of particle physics? Consider some conjectures: (1) Gravity Probe B's 4 ultra-precise gyroscopes DID NOT MALFUNCTION but instead worked correctly & confirmed = (3.9±.5) * 10^–5 .(2) String theory with Fredkin's finite nature hypothesis implies = (3.9±.5) * 10^–5, string vibrations are approximately confined to 3 copies of the Leech lattice (explaining the 3 generations of fermions), some gravitons have spin slightly > 2 (explaining dark matter), some gravitons have spin slightly < 2 (explaining dark energy), and GRAVITATIONAL ENERGY IS NOT CONSERVED!!!! (3) The main problem with string theory is that the string theorists fail to realize that Milgrom is the Kepler of contemporary cosmology. (4) The Friedmann model needs to be replaced by the Riofrio-Sanejouand model. (5) The multiverse is 72-dimensional; all of the alternate universes occur on the 71-dimensional boundary of the multiverse; and the passage of time occurs because, during each Planck time interval, precisely one unit of Fredkin-Wolfram energy is transferred from the boundary of the multiverse into the interior of the multiverse. (6) The monster group & the 6 pariah groups control the creation of multiverse boundary information from multiverse interior information, & there are 6 basic quarks because there 6 pariah groups. Are the preceding conjectures wrong? Google "milgrom kroupa mcgaugh koide lestone" & "milgrom einstein's field equations 3 criticisms".

Are the sizes of different generations different? If not you could fit more energy into the same space which would be important in the initial moments of the universe?

I think Pauli got it wrong and this is particles overlapping.

This was explained by an equation by Nikola Perkovic.

We don’t know?. Correction: you don’t know. And it is better for humanity for it to stay like that.
