China's Squat Jerk Squad: Lu Xiaojun, Tian Tao, Shi Zhiyong

Half of China's men's team will be composed of squat jerkers, all of which are close capable of breaking world records: Tian Tao (220kg @ 85kg ), Lu Xiaojun (207kg @ 77kg), and Shi Zhiyong (195 @ 69kg). Chinese athletes learn to #squatjerk and #splitjerk. The squat jerk is more natural and is used to master moving vertically while minimizing horizontal forces, then athletes apply this to the split. However, some choose to keep the squat jerk as their main style because of its relative simplicity, greater weight potential, their own great strength-endurance. If you want to learn how to teach and perform both styles of the jerk, join in Seattle this weekend or contact us to host a #mastrength seminar in your area after the Olympics!

Slowing it down really shows how diffirent their tickniques are.

From what i observed
- Lu xiaojun: faster pull, more stable bottom position, better thorasic extension
- Shi Zhiyong: longer extension at the top, almost complete knee extension after the jerk
- Tian Tao: does a little jump forward during the jerk, seems to rely completely on leg and hip strength (while the others sit, and bounce their hips forward), almost completely upright during the front squat portion of the clean

When their coaches do their programming, do they use the same tried and proven "best" programming, or do they customize the methodology, to accommodate for the athletes' diffirences in build and technique?

I'm in no position to criticize these athletes. But is it just me or Shi just seems a bit more unstable in all his positions like the squat, hold, etc compared to lu, tian, and liao (of course these 3 would have similar styles since they're coached by the same man)
