Squid Rig - Long-Cast Float Rig

This is a very clever idea to cast Squid Jigs further and more stable. One prong on the jig is bent backwards, in turn giving you a way to invert the jig by fitting it into the red sleeve - this brings the weighted end forward, making it throw straight instead of wobble all over the place. A more balanced, stable and frankly aerodynamic mass you are throwing, in this case a jig - the more distance you will get.

I use this rig from rockwalls, off jetties and in harbours - it is particularly effective when you have a weed bed parallel to a rockwall, with a current running from one side to another. This allows you to cast up-current and let the current drift your float along the weed bed, basically scanning the area for you. you can start at one end of a rockwall and work your way down every 50 or so meters and really cover a lot of ground doing so.
