How good are you at just sitting there and doing nothing? At the ninth International Space-Out Competition held in Hong Kong, 71 teams with more than a hundred participants took up the challenge. All they had to do was sit still for 90 minutes. Top prizes were handed out to participants based on who earned the most votes from the audience, as well as on who had the lowest and most stable heart rates. South Korean artist Woopsyang started holding such competitions in 2014 hoping to free people from the stresses of modern life and let them spend “unproductive” time together – just doing nothing.
