Dr Simon, can you please explain can you feel fibrillations beneath your skin? Or these fibrillations muscle contraction is something we can't feel early on?

Hello dr. I had an EMG recently in all my limbs, sternocleidom., right mentalis and zygomaticus.I have been twitching all over for 4 months. It came back clean, just a few fasciculations. No fib, no PSW, normal MUP ampl. and dur., no MUP polyphasicity, normal muscle pattern. BUT when the doc. insert the needle electrod in my left brachioradialis forearm muscle I felt some real pain and the muscle get tensed and tend to remained that way.In that moment I see on the monitor exactly what you show us in the video in the first place and described like myophaty. The doctor said my arm remained tense so I tryed to relax as I could. But without any change. Then the doctor touch very very little the needle and everything become normal on monitor. He asked me to tense my arm, he measured MUP dur. and ampl. All was ok.
My question is: it's possible when he inserted the needle in the muscle, to damage some muscular fibers? He doesn't mention but he said that 100% everything is ok. Thank you!

Dear Dr. Simon,

If a patient suffers from benign fasciculations due high stress and anxiety, would his EMG results be any different than a totally normal individual without any fasciculations?

If during the EMG tests, these fasciculations happen, would it actually show any difference than:

A- normal healthy individuals

B- individuals with neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS, MS, etc.

Greatly appreciate your response.

Hello Doctor. I had pyomyositis and subsequent compartment syndrome, successfully treated with antibiotics and NSAID's. However 9 weeks since the cessation of swelling, pain, inflammation and infection yet i still have random persistent buzzing in my left quad and hamstrings which seems to be worsening and covering a larger area. Wondering on your thoughts as to wether this is fibrillation and nerves dying off?
