Michael Jackson - Off The Wall Medley | Last Show in Auckland (Remaster)

Michael Jackson performing the Off The Wall Medley (Rock With You, Off The Wall and Don’t Stop Till You get Enough) in Auckland, New Zealand at the Ericsson Stadium for a sold out venue of ca. 47.000 people on November 11th, 1996. This is the second of the two shows in Auckland, the first show being on November 9th. Both shows were sold out, performed for a total of ca. 94.000 people.

THOUGHTS:
This is just great. The instrumentation is just straight up perfect. There’s a great groove here. However it’s still kinda odd to see Michael lip-singing DSTYGE. Gotta love the last live line of the song though 4:22. However, to me, this whole show is just a perfect representation of the ‘96 leg (and better than the November 9th show by all means)

WHAT I DID:
1080p and denoise by Sammy. Color correction, exposure fix, lighting correction, audio enhancement and more by me

WHY A ‘REMASTER’, AND NOT JUST ‘ENHANCED’?
This is a remaster because I did everything I could do to improve this performance, and achieved great results basically improving the performance with no loss of detail nor quality of both video and audio. This does not mean it’s perfect, this just means I did so much that it’s in my opinion worthy of the ‘remaster’ title.

People always say it's jarring to see older Michael lip-sync young Michael but he can clearly sing just like that because he does it at the end (4:23). Which makes me have the exact opposite problem, it feels strange to lip-sync given how he sounds essentially identical to the record 20 years later.

I suppose it would probably be hard on his voice and given that he had voice problems throughout the HIStory Tour even when lip-syncing that was probably a good call. I would've liked to hear him sing it live at least once though, like at the first or last 1996 show. I hope there's a show we don't know about where playback highjinks cause him to sing it live.

Still love these performances though, the choreagraphy is really loose and Michael's clearly just vibing hard. I find the medley flows really well too, one of my favourites. This one's one of the better performances of it too, although Bucharest is king.

I agree. It is odd that he lip synced "DSTYGE" because it had the same range as what he had sung in the last line. But I agree, this is one of my favourite Off The Wall Medley.
