That is so cool! What if you covered the paper in lemon and dried it _before_ you write on it?

This reminds me pf the secret writing technique of the Filipinos during the Spanish era. If I remember correctly, they write on paper with an acid and water mixture then deliver it. When the recipient wants to read the message, they put it over a candle flame and the writing will show.

I ALWAYS wondered how that worked. Like a lot of mommies, I used this product when my kiddos were young. This video is so neat!!!

Reminds me of National Treasure, where they did exactly this to discover a message on the Declaration of Independence.

"...the citric acid in the lemon juice isn't very strong, so i tried with the juice from a lemon instead."

I still remember back in the 90s when they first came out with the markers where you write something in white and then color the area with like a yellow and red writing appeared. It was so cool to send secret messages.

Those markers/coloring books would be good for toddlers and then graduate them to regular ones. ☺️

Well it was actually because of the heat on the dryer.
When you write something on paper with lemon juice and heat it, a brownish colour appears.

I simply use these for sketching since the marker isn’t completely invisible so I dont have to erase so many lines lol

I can sense crayon and paper monopoly from this

You can buy citric acid crystals in places that supply canning supplies or bulk foods for candy making. It’s delicious.

Wait, crayola was just trying to get us to buy more of their products and don’t care about actual artistic expression???

It would probably work best if you just put some citric acid in water right?

So you can't use lemon juice, you need a JUICE FROM A LEMON!

Just treat the paper with the juice beforehand and let it dry. The marker will wet it again and it will develop as it dries

The only reason it's coming up now is because the heat from the hair dryer is causing it to develope. It's just like using lemon juice to write a 'secret message' on a piece of paper and then holding it above the flame of a candle to see what it said.
