BMW Malaysia reintroduced the 320i variant in the G20 BMW 3 Series. Packing the familiar B48 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and silky smooth 8-speed ZF automatic.

The 3 Series is now larger and more spacious than ever which will appeal to families shopping for a premium sedan. However, the overly sporty nature of the car would deter those who prefer a more comfortable ride.

Watch what Adrian has to say about the latest G20 BMW 320i Sport Line and see whether is it your next perfect car.

I test drove the 330i and while so many people claim it to be a bit stiff or harsh for daily driving, i found it okay. But i also drive golf gti so maybe im just used to the stiff suspension lol. Yes the c class is a lot smoother drive but its also very floaty and swervy when its in high speed (>160kmh). You want total comfort? You don’t get performance. And vice versa. So choose what you prefer.

Thank you Adrian, nice video. BMW is always looking for new customers. The new car designs should compromise to keep the current customers but to attract new ones. This is my case. I used to be the typical Toyota Camry lover. However, this G20 transformed me into a BMW lover. Greetings from Mexico.

I'm quite surprised at your description of the 320i's suspension. Piece of advice then you shouldn't test drive the 330i or your butt will be destroyed to a million pieces lol Jokes aside the 320i's suspension is absolutely perfect IMO. Comfortable enough yet feels sporty enough for some spirited driving but by no means it felt harsh. Sorry but I totally disagree about the C200. Compared to the 320i the C200 interior may look better but the 320i's interior feels more solid in terms of build quality. Nothing wiggles when you apply pressure and press buttons or try to move anything. The C200's interior I admit may look more premium but buttons and such wiggle and the clicks and overall mechanism of them feels utterly cheap when you push them around especially the row of climate control buttons below the front aircon vents. Also the C200's interior is way more cramp than the 320i in the rear, plus most importantly the 320i has full sized rear seats which provides excellent thigh support. The rear seats in the C200 are horribly short, thigh support is only excellent if you're a child or a midget, else it is just so-so and isn't very good for long distance driving. Not to mention the leather seats, slightly firmer in the 320i than the C200 but the real leather feels much nicer to the touch than the fake stuff you get in the C200. And don't even mention the drive, 320i any day, any hour, any minute, any second. The bar is set so high in this department that I am even beginning to doubt if the W206 would be able to match it much less beat it. Sorry man the 320i trumps the C200 in every department except probably the looks, interior wise at the moment. But then again since when has BMW ever cared about the interior lol! To me the interior is a huge enough step up from the F30 and that is good enough. Exterior is debatable and subjected to personal tastes. It is worth noting though the C200 is a 5 year old car in the market. But if you're looking at either RIGHT NOW, get the 320i, else wait for the W206. Coming from a guy who has both in the driveway right now. 2 months ownership so far for the 320i and 1 month ownership for the C200 (wife).

I tested the 330i and found the suspension to be pretty harsh for a daily driver. Great handling, though.

I agree with Adrian. Suspension is absolute worst in new G20 models. Long drive is a nightmare in my brother's 330i especially for passengers.

Agree. Test drove the 330i. Great driving dynamics but harsh ride.

If it had adaptive M dampers it would have been better. Even the G20 330i doesn't have the adaptive M dampers. However, the suspension still bearable and acceptable.

Does BMW 320i 2021 comes in with wireless charging tray?

Do we need to stay alert with the G20 as part of the 320i naming scheme? So, in future, it will be H20?

How quite is the C Class? Bobby Ang said even the Proton X70 is way quiter. Btw out of all the generations of the 3 series the F30 generation was the most softly sprung and deviated furthest from its sport sedan roots. With the G20 BMW has just decided to stick back to its roots and focus on driving performance. Its called ride and handling for a reason, the F30 any car enthusiast would know is way too soft and unsettled when you're really going at speed be it on straights or corners especially the 320i F30 which felt like a german camry not a good thing. The G20 in this department is a quantum leap from the F30 the ride on the new 320i can be described as quite a margin stiffer than its predecessor but much more controlled and planted. So its up to you would you like a bimmer to be floaty and comfortable? Or controlled and planted? I know which 1 most enthusiast would pick. Additionally the 330i is stiff no doubt but the handling and sharpness compared to the 320i is a two steps up. Shaper steering, better handling, more powerful, better braking (front unbranded brembo) drives like a true sports sedan. Verdit 320i is the pick for most buyers who can do without the extra driving dynamics and performance but instead prefer a more family oriented drive. 330i for keen drivers and enthusiasts for want the proper bmw ultimate driving machine feel who can bear with a hasher ride. And the C200 and C300 for people who value style, design and brand image above all else.

It's the run flat tyres that caused the uncomfortable ride

No mention of the all important driver assist system? Or is there any? I thought so.

17 inch wheels and no more cures a lot. I never spec more than 17” on my Cars. I have driven all, Audi, Mercedes and BMW and that solved the comfort issues for the most

I wonder if bmw will put adaptive suspension on higher end 3 series (330e or 330i)..adaptive suspension might be the answer to the comfortable ride
