Everyone that uses less technology than me is a savage and everyone that uses More is a cheater

I’ve seen stuff like this all over. Use what works and if someone else has a problem with it, well that’s their problem not mine.

I hunt with recurve and this year was the second nice buck I missed even though I practiced all year… I was on the fence at first about getting a crossbow because it felt like cheating and then I realized that meat in the freezer was more important than what I use to get it, and my ego. Borrowed my dad’s crossbow and got one on day two of using it

I found in life you can use whatever you want so long as the game warden doesn't catch you.

This reminds me of the squabbles of knife makers. Guys that forge think stock removal is cheating, guys that freehand grind think using a jig is cheating. Everyone thinks their way is the best or better or the only right way etc etc.

As long as you’re making a good product (if you’re selling them) then how you make it shouldn’t matter one bit.

Well, I've had compound bow guys get all snobby on me when I use my recurve, but I've also met some that were great

I’ve used natural material selfbows before. It’s actually very nice, I enjoy it

Not supposed to use toilet paper to wipe ur butt cause it ain’t leaves or a sears and roebuck catalog either cause it ain’t traditional but I’m still going to use it, haha 😂

I have a few of all of the above. I'm sure someone will be unhappy. You forgot, the guys that make fun of recurves, or my old compound bow, because its not the latest $1500 bow.
In Archery season here, no Crossbow is allowed, for big game like deer and elk. But in regular season, it's legal.
Edit: that last bow can be chewed into shape with your teeth. Don't give up yet!

All I want to see is 6 arrows in a 40cm target at 20 yards.

That reminds me of composite bows made from bone, horn, sinew, and natural glues(just don’t go into a jungle.) The Mongols and the other steppe peoples are pretty resourceful.

Depicts the gate keeper mentality of some "trad archers" quite good. Seems it's the same on both sides of the great pond 😅

it's mostly the people who use compound bows who I have issues with

Genuinely, this is what it feels like to try and get started hunting

I thought we were going to see a joint video with you and Donny Dust, using stone tools to make a bow. 😊

I think genuinely that recurve is best for hunting and traditional wooden view for recreation, because I like authenticity

There are some dudes in the Northern states that go spear hunting, those are the only guys who I’ll let talk down about modern equipment and everyone else can kick rocks.

As a person who uses a compound bow, if someone who’s never used a boat before, tried to use it, they would quickly figure out that it is not like having training wheels. Trying to take out a deer with a compound bow requires a lot of practice.

You can determine where it falls for you, but I personally find the dividing line to be Olympic recurve, cause once it's got wheels my mind says "why use a bow whose tech design only appeared after guns". New materials like fiberglass are fine, but compound bows are younger than my dad. Make your own judgement, but that's mine.

Do what works for you, not what you’re told works
