So galactic empires owning billions of planets in movies are literally the same as owning one pencil in kindergarten…

How did we even take it way outside of the solar system?

To clear things up, we are not in that picture. That would just be the size of our solar system inside that cloud.

There’s so much real estate. So many places we could put a McDonald’s

TO CLEAR SOME MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THIS VIDEO.

In scale, he said the solar system would be about that small as mentioned in the video which is absolutely correct. However what he failed to mention was that the nebula in the video is not the where the solar system is located, ofcourse that would be impossible to do.

Instead this is a distant nebula called the Carina Nebula. specifically in a region called the Orion Arm (sometimes referred to as the Orion Spur). The Carina Nebula is located about 7, 500 light-years away from Earth in the Carina-Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way.

Hope this clears some misconceptions

"Let say this star right here is ours"* now I'm ok with this video.

This is a Photoshop, not an actual photo that contains our solar system. It should be obvious to anyone into astronomy but I feel the guy who made this video should've explained that there's no way we could take a photo of our solar system from this perspective

We could be in a nebula and not even know it.

Props to the camera man for this picture 📸 📷

I normally love this guy's stuff, but please explain to me how an image of our solar system could have been captured by us from farther away than any spacecraft had traveled. Even gravitational lensing can't explain this. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
