SC man dead from fireworks explosion on head

One person died in a fireworks explosion on July Fourth in Dorchester County, South Carolina. The county said Allen Ray McGrew ignited a large firework device and set it on his head on a neighborhood street near Summerville. The device exploded while on his head, leading to serious injuries. McGrew, 41, was pronounced dead by the coroner at 11:10 p.m.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and Dorchester County Coroner's Office are investigating.

A few things we can estimate from the news story, it probably wasn’t a smoke bomb or a rocket… it would have just smoked or left a black mark when it ignited & left the area.
