How to Install VST Plugins in Audacity

Here is a quick tutorial for installing any VST plugin for Audacity.

Think I've figured it out, go to the top of the effects drop down box, select add/remove plug-ins then go across to new and you will find all the added and most recent plug ins you've copied into the program files. Select enable and they will be added to the standard list.

So many people just use their pc mic to make YT videos. It would be great if more people knew how easy it was to just download a program like audacity and get a halfway decent audio interface.

For those who dont even have this pop up
go to your program files
go to the Audacity folder
then to the plugins folder
drop the plugin in your plugins folder
open audacity
go to effects and click Add/Remove Plug-Ins
click Select all and then Enable
press ok
the Plugin should show up now

With these types of VST effects you can only turn them on afterwards. Certain plugins will also open in a standalone mode that you can open on the side. I do that quite often with Guitar RIg.

Hey, mine didn't work, But I fixed it!!
You go to Computer->C:-> Program Files(x86) (or another program files thing, I dunno how computers work lol.) ->Audacity->Plug-Ins And you drop the .dll file there! :)

If theres no vstplugins folder, just plop it in the plug ins folder inside your Audacity folder

I noticed you have addictive drums in your vst folder, but it's not showing up in your effects list. Thats the one im trying to use. Are you able to use addictive drums in Audacity?

I think that the default install folder for glaceverb is steingberg so you have to make sure you change the install path to your desired or shared plugin folder

I just tried this installation process, and I'm still not seeing my plugin in the Effects bar.  I downloaded GSnap from GVST.  Any tips?

You don't need a third party program to unzip something. On a Mac it extracts it when you try to open it. On Windows File Explorer can open it.

hi i have downloaded some mastering plugins but cant seem to get them find them and put them on desktop. also am trying to get the plugins in to LMMS any ideas? Thanks.
