Warrior Cinemax: Episode 4: The strange thing about Mai Ling!

Warrior Cinemax: The show just keeps getting better with every new episode! Cinemax Warrior has great writing, cinematography, characters and action! Episode 4 entitle The White Mountain was one of the best episodes yet. We get a deeper look at Bill and we learn a lot more about the characters in the show. But the one character in particular we will focus on is Mai Ling (played by Dianne Doan) and how they are developing such a powerful character and what makes her so different!

If you are not watching Warrior you really should be. The show keeps getting better and better! It has great writing, multilayered characters, great cinematography, and martial arts action! Have you been checking the show out? What do you think so far?

I am getting more and more fond of this series as I view more episodes.

- The love interest angle between Ah Sahm & Penelope seems to stem from their mutual situations that they are both in situations they can't control (Ah Sahm is basically skinned in, so he's stuck with Hop Wei, and Penelope is basically stuck in her loveless marriage with Mayor Blake to save her father company, both in situations they currently can't do anything about). I just wonder whether either one of them will take action to change the situation they're in.

- Bolo is his name. Was a coolie, but started to earn his name in the fighting pits as "The Yellow Demon." I loved his flashback, and hope we get flashbacks of other characters as well.
With Bolo, he seems to be a strong fighter, though I'm not sure he's as technical as Ah Sahm or Li Yong (couldn't really see much from him and Young Jun's episode 2 fight against Long Zii, and his fight in this episode felt more like brawling, due to them being on water).

- I love the relationship between Ah Sahm & Young Jun, great bromance going on there. Though I wonder how Young Jun will react when he finds out Ah Sahm is Mai Ling's sister.

- Also I love relationship between Bill & Lee. Two characters who seem like to be on the somewhat (though not completely) opposite ends of moral compasses.
To me, I think probably I'd say Bill's approach is better. I'd really hate myself for doing it, but Lee's way of thinking is just so naive, that I'm not even sure he would survive the Chinatown Squad duties on his own if he doesn't get the occasional telling off from Bill, and Bill showing him the actual reality of the situation (compared to Lee's idealistic views).

- I get the feeling Mai Ling has an excellent network of spies setup for Long Zii. Like you've said, she knew where Ah Sahm was spending a lot of his time outside his normal Hop Wei activities (though with Ah Sahm, I guess she's keeping extra tabs on him due to the sibling love) and she also knew the main leader of Fung Hai (the big bald guy) wouldn't agree to negotiate, so she poisoned him in advance.
And with her deal with Deputy Mayor Buckley (where he wants War in Chinatown, and she says "You'll get one."), I could be wrong, but I think she knows he's just trying to manipulate her and the whole Chinatown (in order to grab more power), and in turn she's playing along with him in order to achieve something bigger.

Love this show/like ITB. Warrior builds on their world/themes/episodes & Into The Badlands stopped world building during most of season 2 (Quinn living with medical care from Veil (after knowing he killed her parents; WTF?) so he could fight Sonny at end of season (again)?

The irony of Irish-Americans hating on Chinese Americans for replacing them as cheaper labour proves that history can repeat itself (currently Americans blame immigrants for 'stealing jobs'.
