Dad, doesn't the Bible teach slavery? Albert Mohler (president, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) argues that, though there are references to slavery in the Bible, that slavery differed substantially from the race-based chattel slavery in America’s history, for which there is no biblical justification. The Bible also shows real concern for the care of people who entered into slavery in the ancient economic system in which that practice was ubiquitous.
