How does a U-Space work? (SUB)

From 2023, the first drone airspaces (U-Spaces) may be established in Europe. These are intended to facilitate drone traffic in urban regions. The concept for this comes from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and provides for its own rules and responsibilities for a U-Space. In 2021, Droniq GmbH, Germany's leading specialist for commercial and business drone use, worked with DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung to demonstrate how the concept can be put into practice as part of the U-Space Reallabor project in Hamburg, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). We show how a U-Space works in detail in our explanatory video.
