Bacolod, officially the City of Bacolod (/bɑːˈkɔːləd/; Hiligaynon: Dakbanwa/Syudad sang Bacolod; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Bacolod), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the region of Western Visayas, Philippines.It is the capital of the province of Negros Occidental, where it is geographically situated but governed administratively independent.
With a total of 600,783 inhabitants as of the 2020 census, it is the most populous city in Western Visayas and the second most populous city in the entire Visayas after Cebu City. [6] It is the center of the Bacolod metropolitan area, which also includes the cities of Silay and Talisay with a total population of 791,019 inhabitants, [9] along with a total area of 578.65 km2 (223.42 sq mi).
It is notable for its MassKara Festival held during the third week of October and is known for being a relatively friendly city, as it bears the nickname "The City of Smiles". The city is also famous for its local delicacies piaya and chicken inasal.

To summarize, Bacolod's development is more spread out. It's sprawling throughout the city limits. On the other hand, Iloilo's development is more compact and grouped in specific business zones. Both are great cities. Greetings and support from Cavite.

Just realized that a lot of those greeneries in northern Bacolod are not parks, but the gardens of people in big houses of the upper class . Some mansions are not even in subdivisions but radiate around Lacson street. Capitolville, Santa Clara 1 and 2, Executive and Villa Valderrama are all around Lacson Street.. And also buildings in Lacson tend to have trees and pocket gardens as well.. Northern Bacolod seems to be a hub for prominent Negrense families and they are a lot of them. There are a lot in the south and east too… but not as much as the north

Bacolod has a big development after 2 townships from Megaworld another biggest MICRO CITY FROM SM PRIME .AND THE 79 HECTARES ROCWELL BACOLOD.CASA MERA IN NORTH OF LACSON AND MARCO POLO HOTEL IN NORTH HILL GATE WAY .BACOLOD POPULATION ALMOST 3 3 times bigfe than iloilo 5 times bigger than iloilo in terms of land area.good location a provuncial capital not a regional center but can compete other regional hub in the phils.Bacolod is the best city in visayas and mindanao.

Ang trend ngayon ay mala BGC at Eastwood ang dating ng isang urban center katulad ng Megaworld sa iloilo . Iyong Bacolod development eh pinaglipasan na kasi pa isa isa ang tayo ng mga high rise. So paano pa kaya kung mula sa condo mo e mayroon kang meeting sa 1 hotel eh magkalayo naman ang mga ito?
