Flyers Honour Claude Giroux For Reaching 1000 NHL Games Played Milestone

The Philadelphia Flyers honoured captain Claude Giroux in a pregame ceremony ahead of his 1000th career NHL game.

As a Panthers fan who reaaaally wants to see Giroux come to South Florida, even I can't deny that I feel bad for him and flyers nation. Losing your long-time captain is no easy pill to swallow as a fan. I'm really glad that he was able to have this moment before the inevitable deal happens. Who do you guys think will get em? Or perhaps you think there's a slim chance that he stays in Philly?

As a Flyers fan, no player will mean as much to me as Giroux does. The first Flyers stanley cup overtime goal I witness was you scoring against the Blackhawks in game 4 to knot the series at 2. You’ve stuck with this team thru good and bad and have led them as captain for a decade now. I knew when he first came up he was gonna be good, and he did not disappoint. While his time here in Philly may be over, I just wanna say thank you G 🙏🏼 this team will not be the same without you wearing the C 🥲

I watched part of this last night as my fiance is a Flyers fan. I have watched the cap grow as a great player and to see my fiance light up when he is on the ice. I will never wear the orange and black but if that was Claude's last game, you are one of the best and Philly will not be the same with out you. As a Devils fan, this is hard to write but well deserved. #28
