This music was immensely popular in India in 1990s. There is a song ‘Hawa Hawa’ by Pakistani singer Hasan Jehangir. Since the language spoken in Northern India and Pakistan are similar, this song was a major hit in the subcontinent. It is only today that I have come to know that this Pakistani song is actually from Iran ! Well, goes on show how music transcends boundaries !

What a voice he has. I'm not Iranian and I don't understand Persian but I love his music. I actually found Kourosh's music through Spotify. Very talented musician he is. His music actually got me interested into learning more about the Iranian culture.

Fun fact: This is a rock version of a folkloric southern Iranian song, so it has a totally different vibe from Persian songs. Iran is a diverse country. This song has some rhythms that will take you all the way to Africa and India. Amazing song

It's the same story as 'Didi by cheb khaled' which was adopted and credited to 'khaled' by many artists all over the world in languages as English, Turkish, Persian, Russian, Urdu, Greek. The song in this video on the other hand is 'hawa hawa by Hassan jhangeer' It was released as 'havar havar by Koroush Yaghmaei ' in 1974, Iran. Adopted by Hassan jhangeer in 1987, Pakistan. Hassan Jhangeer also credited yaghmaei for the tune. Havar havar original recording was said to be lost in Iranian revolution but as we are neighbours, may long live iran, song tune made it's way to Pakistan quite easily and was released after the Iranian revolution with Urdu lyrics and has rocked since then. 🇮🇷🇵🇰 💪
