I'm torn for Paint the roses. The game looks awesome (especially the Deluxe version of course, with its wonderful two-layered board and acrylic tiles) and I'm pretty sure my family and I would enjoy it, but I'm a little bit concerned by the fact that it may become a little bit same-y after a few plays. It seems this problem is fixed by the modules you find in the Deluxe box (of course...), but the deluxe version costs 80$ on Amazon! (o_O) That's a lot and that's 2x the price of the base game...

Have you tried the new co-op version of Carcassonne (the Mist)? There aren't many reviews out there, but the few I have seen are positive... It introduces ghost meeples, looks fun!

How does Paint the Roses compare to The Shipwreck Arcana? It seems really good, but I just got The Shipwreck Arcana which I've been enjoying a lot.

We found Paint The Roses way too easy. The designer said they designed it to be a 'beat your score' game, which doesn't really work. I much prefer Cryptid.
