I felt sorry for Drexler having to sit through that. Those other men sounded like they had no idea what the hell they were talking about and were both technological pessimists. That wasn't even a debate, just two dudes talking crap and hardly giving Drexler a chance to explain anything, not that they'd understand anyway.

The future is actually now pretty predictable with information technology it's been increasing in power exponentially for well over 100 years now and the speed of exponential growth consistently gets faster. Kurzweil's theory of the law of accelerating returns has been incredibly predictable and it shows with his accuracy in his predictions.
