Our Superhero Son Whose Bones Break Like ‘Glass’

Superhero-obsessed Kaden Casebolt has a rare condition which causes his bones to break as easily as a ‘glass doll’. But despite his physical fragility, the spirited five-year-old loves nothing more than dressing up as comic book hero Iron Man or ‘Man of Steel’ Superman. Kaden, from Dallas, Texas, has a brittle bone condition that means his bones can shatter simply by sneezing, but won’t let anything hold him back. Despite suffering over 40 fractures since birth, he enjoys play fighting, dancing and singing, playing his guitar and racing around on his specially adapted bike with his mum, Valorie Salsman, dad, Kelby Casebolt and stepdad, Benjamin Herzog.

I love how the parents in this are so supportive of their son and still support each other desire now going their separate ways. I love how they didn't let this interfere with their child's happiness and how the father actually even talks about the step parent with no remorse or malice. That's a sign of some really beautiful people- those who really care about their little boy and don't need to throw an ex under the bus but rather co parent and be civil towards each other.

My older sister has this condition. She doesn't live with us but the times we do see her she's either in hospital or in a wheelchair. Its heart breaking to see her how she is, she's only 18 and she's engaged and has such a bright future. But her bones break at random. Not too long ago she fell and twisted her leg almost all the way round and a month ago she was sitting with her fiancees dog, and he called the dog so she put her arm out to stop the dog jumping on her legs and the dog fractured her shoulder blade. Her leg hasnt healed for 2 years. She keeps a positive outlook and life though, and so she should. Idk man I just respect people with this condition a lot more now I knnow someone with it.
