They can make it look uglier by having a huge piece of carbon sticking out from the back of the car to reduce the spray, I mean it might hinder the aero a little

I don’t know if this is feasible but they should put a cover that launches the water from the diffuser up and over the car behind. It would only be a problem for the start of the race but after that it should be good

TLDR; No, they flopped as per FIA documents. They’re still looking into better ways to make rainy races more viable.

It won't help much. When NASCAR raced at COTA for the first time, it was pouring rain, and those are closed wheel cars and the spray was still so bad that there was a huge crash because nobody could see stopped and slowed cars down the straightaway.

Why not just put the back of the guards to not cover the wheel and reduce a bit of spray 🤷

They are going to cause more issues, more debris on the track, drivers will have to come in to get them replaced.

And that they won't be going on the cars.
