here's my take on six sigma with a brief overview of my background.
i studied biology in college...so basically learning how to set up experiments and analyzing data. then after college i entered the job market in an entry level role for a production & supply agriculture company. after trying to get management to realize i wasn't going to be a "lifer" at the site and wanted to keep advancing, they said I needed to get certified in at least a yellow belt in LSS (a combo of Lean and SS). this was in my third year at the company...
i did some basic research on the subject and took an astonishing amount of practice tests online. turns out, with some basic knowledge of data science, creativity, and observation you don't even need to take courses.

overall, i can see this course as being helpful for people who are oblivious to their companie's shortfalls. however, if you possess the basic knowledge of your entire manufacturing/p&s location, this is just resume fodder. anyone with a background in the scientific method can easily pass the green belt exam. they just need to know the vernacular used in SS compared to science
