NBA Live 19 will be be a sim-oriented basketball game, which aims to realistically portray the real National Basketball Association. Running on the IGNITE engine, it retains features such as Dynasty Mode, ESPN presentation, right stick dribbling controls, Rising Star, Ultimate Team, NBA Rewind, BIG Moments, LIVE Pro-Am, and other established staples of the NBA Live series. Yeah NBA Elite 11 and NBA live 17 were both "delayed." The new approach most likely is them working on Live 21 for next gen. NBA Live 20 will be cancelled.

I like playing both NBA live and NBA 2k.

With Live consistently getting demolished every year in sales and in review scores, it’s not surprising to see EA pause here, especially in this risk-averse climate. Maybe the delay takes Live 20 out from under 2K20’s shadow and gives fans who are bothered by Take-Two’s overuse of microtransactions something to fall back on.

That said, developers have to do better. There’s no mistaking that Live is getting killed in reviews and coverage in comparison to its dominant rival. While an interesting idea, The One just wasn’t captivating enough to draw players away from MyPlayer, which is a far more narrative-driven experience. Maybe something more similar to Madden 18’s Longshot Mode could raise eyebrows?

I heard someone say that when ea updated NBA live rosters to match the 2020, they cancel the game. They last did this in NBA Live 10, and then the next game was 14.

They have a DJ already for their new soundtrack and they already have no cap for the next live so it won’t be cancelled

I think they "don't have enough resources" to release the game until then. Maybe they were working on Madden 20 which also "didn't have enough resources" to produce a completely fleshed out product.
