LEGO Just Released EVEN MORE New Gears!

This is a short video that talks about the new spur gear versions of the LEGO 12 and 20 tooth bevel gears. Although there are far less uses for these gears than the new(now not so new) 28 tooth bevel gear, they still have some very important new uses.

Note: I did forget to mention one thing. These new gears are currently only available in one set, the LEGO App-Controlled Transformation Vehicle 42140.

Doesn’t a larger area not directly relate to friction?
The friction equation is
Ff = Fn*μ
That is to say. Force of friction is equal to Normal force times the coefficient of friction.
Nothing there relates to surface area between the two bodies.
However I’m not an expert, I just remember my physics teacher stressing that fact in high school, and obviously there is a difference between how the new gears work, I’m just not sure “less contact=less friction” is the reason.
