There has never been a better player in terms of excitement. Number 3 against the Pies may have been goal of the year in 1989. Probably the best piece of play I’ve seen ever to kick that goal post high from 45m on the run in the mud and rain with a heavy ball in the last quarter.

So you run a highlight reel of arguably the most naturally gifted athlete and player the game has ever seen and it lasts less than 2 minutes? Could have had his highlights from his 14 goals vs Essendon, more highlights from the '89 grand final. Arguably the most famous kick in finals football history with his goal vs North in '94. Pretty poor effort from the AFL here.

The goal that he kicked on the run from outside the 50 on the boundary line against Essendon at VFL Park in the 1989 Preliminary Final was a special moment that should have gotten included on this list. His 10th goal against Essendon in the MCG shootout in 1993 when the ball bounced over James Hird's head and he kicked a reverse banana goal the wrong way is worth a mention too.

Gary Ablett kicking the goal from the throw in the 1989 GF was the first time I'd seen that happen.

Poor effort AFL his stuff in the eighties was out of control and theres footage of it. Massive one handed hangers, long bombs on the run after beating 2, 3, 4 opposition players. After seven vfl games he played for the Victoria and kick 8 from a flank against a gun WA Side that won the game..
