In South Africa, that reverse speed is quite relevant. I’ve escaped a hijacking by reversing at 20-30km/h. If I had reversed at 10, I’d be caught on foot 😂

Describe a vehicle.

Wheel covers, black plastic bumpers, Halogen headlights, non-adjustable passenger seat, 4 speaker radio, cloth interior, hard plastic door panels.

Is it a 90s Lada or 2000s base model Kia?

No. It's a 2023 Ford for over $110, 000.

You're looking at a 10 year break-even point compared to the regular Transit. Doesn't make much sense to me. EV's make a lot of sense in certain applications, where the manufacturer is able to make the car feel 'worth it'. The Model 3 is a good example, it feels absolutely worth its price in terms of performance, technology, interior quality. As such, it sells like absolute hot cakes. Whereas something like this is directly comparable to it's petrol equivalent - there are no real performance, technology or interior enhancements. I mean it has HALOGEN headlights? As such its extremely hard to justify a 40k premium and likely wont be very successful.

What?!? $110, 000!
Halogen headlights! Don’t do deliveries at night.

This is so funny. Seeing Paul in a VAN is funny. Normally it is a car but a van is so left field! Glad you did it as some people are needing a van. Got a great laugh at some of your comments.

Bro, I'm your fan and I really love watching your car review show. I enjoy it a lot, especially the attention to detail in the vehicles and the excellent presentation. I'm from China, and I really hope that your videos can have Chinese subtitles so that I can have a better understanding and follow along more clearly, come on man!

I don’t know why Ford are introducing a vehicle which we all know will be a sales disaster in Australia. What the hell are the Ford executives thinking!? 🤦‍♂️

It would certainly be interesting to see how much of the battery life will be compromised with a full load.

I can't believe the price here in the UK the E transit can be had from under £40k and I think e deliver 9 for less then £35k that's crazy expensive for someone who is a mutual drop driver they just don't really cut it yet I cover a minimum of 150 miles a day and would much prefer would be hybrid van with made 50 miles of electricity would be fantastic

15:02 your interesting gauge there, power available, most likely is pulling data from your wiring, motor, battery temperatures sensors and setting that limit there for you so that you do not melt things from lead footed driving.

So, so many comments here....
I guess I will restrict to two comments, one for the car, one for Paul.

1) $100k for a Spartan electric van? Yes it may be cheaper than its competitors, but wow, for that coin I would like to see less hard scratchy plastic and actual LED headlights for safety.

2). I think it's great to see diverse reviews being done, away from the mainstream SUV/ute markets. But why did this review come about? I think this is the first Carexpert/Caradvice review I have seen that isn't a passenger or 4x4 ute.

Commercial vehicles need replaceable battery pack solution to ensure they have no down time.

We have a few eSprinters on the fleet, their ideal for last mile work as their range is only about 60 - 70 miles but useless for long distance plus we charge at out warehouse like most ev van users. For distance diesel only and hydrogen when it becomes viable.

Thanks for this detailed review, and for introducing me to the term 'de-lidded'

I wonder how it would perform with a load in it... would be an interesting additional video to see the acceleration and brake tests with load.
