Big Concerns Over Toyota's Future Amid Scandals and Sales Troubles! Toyota faces significant challenges, raising doubts about its future. The vehicle certification scandal persists, 100,000 Tundras and Lexus LXs need engine replacements, and lawsuits over hydrogen projects loom. Despite these issues, Toyota reported a record profit of $8.9 billion from April to June 2025, a 1.7% increase from last year, aided by the yen's depreciation.

Global sales dropped 1.9%, with Japan seeing a 14% decline due to halted sales from certification problems. North American sales rose 14.3%, helping offset these declines. The future financial outlook could be impacted as the yen recovers and Japanese sales improve once stop-sales lift on certain models.

In the U.S., while most models perform well, Highlander and Tacoma sales dropped over 40%. The new Crown had a strong debut, and the Camry remains popular. SUVs are top sellers, with the RAV4 leading at 248,295 units sold this year.

Toyota's ability to sustain growth amid these challenges remains uncertain, making upcoming quarters critical for maintaining its global leadership position.

I test drove a Toyota recently. The sakes rep was so obnoxious playing games. I sat at his desk for 10 minutes while he talked to his “manger” he was shocked when I walked over to his manager area and said I was leaving. No matter how good you think your product is I ain’t playing games.

New Toyotas are priced like the luxury segment and have downgraded the quality.

The reason they are having record profits is with the high MSRP's, they are making 20 - 40k per vehicle now instead of the 10k they were making when the msrp's were lower. Greed will always give high returns.

Get rid of turbos, bring back naturally aspirated engines.

Bullshit! When you sell less units and make more profit they are gouging their customers for profit. Product is more tinny now too. I just always bought new every 2-3 years. Not any more.

Keeping my old 4-Runner. I had a minor off-road fender bender, but plan to replace all parts and have the body shop do everything necessary to make it last!

Even for all of Toyotas setbacks, they are still more reliable than “American” made

So basically Toyota has had a few hiccups, but they are taking care of those and still making a ton of money. Got it.

I'm so glad I bought myToyota 4Runner back in 2016 for only $35, 000 and said it was my forever car. Glad I don't have to deal with buying one of the newer Toy's.

Where I live most of the Toyotas seem to be sold before they are even delivered to the dealerships?

$8.9 billion record profit 😂.
$241 billion record debt 😂.
27 quarters (6 years) of record profit to pay that back, without interest!
😂😅😂😅

I am currently dealing with a seal failure on one of the rear cab's 2 vents that cannot even be seen without taking the cover off the rear cab wall or looking at it between the cab and truck bed with a flashlight! Cheap vents and poor sealant. Serious water leak and thousands of dollars of interior carpet replacement. Make sure you get these checked if you have a tacoma. Mine is a 2016 but the problem is not isolated to that year only. Save yourself a lot of $$$$ and grief. This should be a recall

Anyone purchasing a turbo honda need special help. Whats wrong with people Honda has a POS and they keep selling it. Everyone with a 1.5 engine should be given an engine replacement . WHAT they've done is criminal, but people are stupid, keep buying!!!

Toyota tried to sell me a Camry with a 5, 000 dealership. When I walked out the guy told me, fine we will sell it to someone else.
