Watching this again after 3 years. In retrospect, Trump was a threat to the Cathedral. He couldn't be manipulated as easily as the rest of career politicians in Washington. And he also had good approval ratings, which made him even more dangerous, despite the media attacking him non-stop. He had to be stopped. And unfortunately, the Cathedral won.

I agree with your analysis of Trump as well as Moldbug's claim that no such people can any longer exist. Trump was in that class, and yet the cathedral still slammed the door shut behind him and treated him as though he were in the first category. I believe the line ends with his example.

I really enjoy his stuff, but sometimes he's too smart for his own good, in the sense of being in love with his theories, despite their often completely erroneous conclusions. At roughly 1:24 (in relation to Nixon, Reagan and Thatcher) Little trace of their efforts ? In relation to Nixon ? The "War on Drugs" has sculpted whole generations of misery, corruption, wealth, upward mobility, community decay (among other effects), and was exported around the globe, and is going stronger than ever before, this despite a general malaise if not outright hostility to it.
