History: The San Felipe was built by King of Spain and was launched in 1690.
She was Spain's most majestic fighting ship which fought valiantly in the wars against France and Britain.
She was the lead ship of the Spanish Armada and displaced more than 1000 tons and was armed with 96 cannons, enabling her to take on the most formidable ships in the French and British navies to protect Spanish settlements and harbors, transporting treasures, and safeguarding the long and hazardous passage back to Spanish ports.

In 1705, she participated in a furious and heroic battle between 12 Spanish ships and 35 British ships. After 24 hours of battle, she was captured by an English ship, but was so badly damaged that she could not be salvaged as a prize.

She went to the bottom with several tons of gold.

Too bad the ship never really existed but was thought up by a model kit manufacturer in the 1960's. It appears to be based on a 1740's Spanish ship such as the Real Felipe, but the stern galleries depart from Spanish style significantly. Everything about the model is later design than 1690. It's still a beautiful model, and a favorite of builders worldwide. It's amazing how the ship's "history" was made up and retold as truth by kit manufacturers such as Panart.

All the red and yellow flags are false, you, re in a mistake. At that time this Spanish flag didn, t exit yet, it came during Carlos III de Borbón king. It is a wonderful job anyway. Congratulations.
