Jay Rook is the owner and founder of London’s Rook Records. He’s been collecting and DJing vinyl since he was 11 and started Rook Records in 2016. The shop itself is based in Hackney Wick where they keep the racks stocked with rarities, as well as host a YouTube radio channel from the warehouse. In terms of music, the specialism is African and Latin sounds, but the shop is also stocked with the finest in soul, jazz, reggae, hip hop and disco gems. For his episode, Jay Rook is taking you on a journey through the groove-drenched sounds of the Caribbean. The music is often inspired by the 70s funk movement but heavily centered in steel drum vibes and calypso flavours.

Awesome! You might want to high-pass filter your mix because when you press on the buttons (ie 12:37) I hear a booming bass at like 40hz or something!
