I had the same problem on my 2004 Cherokee. The electric fan just didn’t have enough air to cool the engine in the summer while pulling a camper trailer . Was constantly eyeballing the temp . Put it a Dorman fan and clutch put kept the Original electric fan. Fit perfectly. Works !!! Never hit 210 even pulling the camper!

Might go with this, ive replaced all the key parts and it still over heats. My fan works but seems to only be at half power. On a 70 degree day it does fine but 80+ it cant keep up

What plastic fan did you use? I cannot find one to find my 2001 Laredo

Got a 95 GC. 4.0 with 175, 000 on it, so low miles. So far, so good. There isn't much air space between the 4.0 and the radiator/fan. The six is a long engine. The fan blades can't really get the air moving in that area well enough. A few mor inches of space and this would not happen. Any extra air is good. Smart move.

got a 01 grand cherokee 1st fan clip fell off so no fan, 2got replacement electric from amazon [100 dollars] had it installed fan worked but still overheated when stopped in traffic.3.replaced thermostat, temp sensor[it tells the fan to go on.]still overheated.went to different mech.found out polarity on fan wirering was reversed.[fan blew in wrong direction].almost 1 yr later vehicle overheated again new mech said i need a new radiator there were no leaks ?? i thought it was fan related, it was old wire conections and fan clips wouldnt always work.i told mech. to replace clips from fan and veh harness.so far so good now i drive with one eye on road and other on temp needle.

A worn-out Harmonic Balancer can cause your water pump to run slower.

04 WJ 4.0 L
Installed new 2 spd electric fan with a manual override switch installed in the dash center console. I run it on auto until 205 F then I switch it to manual (HI speed) and it drops 30-50 degrees in under 2 minutes at idle.

So I have a similar situation. My 02 wj has both fans but the electric isn't working and it overheats. Sometimes moving the wiring around will make it work

I got a jeep commander 2006 that does the exact same thing. It runs perfectly fine but when I am at a drive thru or red light the temp gage starts to go up and once I drive it goes back to normal. I replaced the coolant, thermostat, radiator cap, and cooling relays and it still does not work. I noticed the fan is no longer working so I will try that and hopefully that is it!

My problem was that mine came with no clutch fan had to cute the relay wires that were melted to my electric fan once that got changed it was fine unless it hit 205 idk if that’s still night but I always keep the ac on if it starts to climb could be having to flush the water but since u changed the radiator might’ve already did that

As long as the fan clutch sounds like a big truck she will stay cool. Next best thing is hood vents to exhaust the air when parked to avoid heat soak. You can put this on a timed relay.

I have the same exact issue on the same exact car 🚘. I’m going to change my fan relay. Hopefully my issue will be solved as well 🙏

Theres a sensor that affects the fan....did you replace it? You may have, I forgot which sensor it is.

Iam thoroughly astonished 5hat 5he fan wasn't the First thing you changed. You n9t very good at diagnostics I guess. I mean who the hell would change a water pump before checking the fan first..
