Seattle Kraken: Name of NHL's 32nd franchise unveiled

The 32nd NHL franchise will be called the Seattle Kraken, team owners announced Thursday morning.

I would say not too much thought was put into that name but its the complete opposite, they thunk too too name, they'll be sold within 7 years after all the hype of a new team that finishes last every season

Bruckheimer needed like 4 years to come up with something the Dungeons & Dragons hockey fanatics in the region have been demanding throughout. Sounds about right. The result is entirely predictable, and does absolutely zero to rep the 100+ years of Seattle hockey history. Ironically, the SONICS are a dead footnote along the way, over and over. Way to go, City officials and outsiders. You were always so desperate to get involved in the arena saga Chris Hansen had been dealing with for years, and you won in this city's arena war.
