Today I'm sharing a round up of my favourite summer dress sewing patterns and I've included links to all the full review videos below plus links of the patterns and any fabrics that are still available. I've included day dresses for cooler weather and hot weather and a dressy option too.

First up is the Tessuti Patterns Lois dress. This pattern is a lot of fun to sew thanks to the quirky design features including a zip in the dart on the side of the skirt and the seams on the back of the skirt. It feels really effortless to wear, it is comfortable, but feels elegant and stylish and is easy to dress up or down with flats or heels, a denim jacket or a smarter jacket.

Next is the Style Arc Belle dress, another really fun dress to sew. There is no separate button band - the front pattern pieces fold back instead. The shirred panel makes fitting super easy and paired with the front waistband piece gives you a cinched in waist which balances out the full sleeves and skirt beautifully.

Mccalls 8321 is one of my favourite ever makes, it has a gorgeous tie back, which is very easy to sew and fit thanks to the elasticated casing that finishes the top of the back skirt piece. To make this dress even more of a joy to wear i added bra cups between the bodice and lining so I don't need to wear a bra when I wear it. I absolutely loved wearing this dress in Spain last year in 40 degree temperatures, it was so cool and comfy.

New Look 6696 is a dress with a cut out back and sexy thigh slit and can definitely work as a special occasion dress. I wore it to my friends' wedding, but it could also work for less formal occasions - on holiday, meals out, parties. The back is supposed to be fastened with a tie, but I cut the piece on the fold instead. I also added interfacing round the back waist to prevent it from stretching out.

I hope you've enjoyed my round up of beautiful summer dresses I loved sewing and wearing, here are the links to the sewing patterns and the full reviews:

You look stunning in every one Lucy . I love the tessuti Lois but it's too low cut for me.

Great selection Lucy, especially the last one I keep looking at it but it looked a bit dull. I will purchase now.

The zip in dart is intriguing! Makes me wonder whether you could add a zip to bust darts to make it breastfeeding friendly

Enjoyed the video thanks. I’d never have bought the Belle dress pattern as the cover drawings are really frumpy looking, but it looks beautiful on you, really elegant. I think I’ll make it now. Did you need to lengthen the bodice pieces at all? In that style of pattern they’re often too short. The sundress is also my favourite style, (from the front), and I’ve made several versions of it, although not that particular pattern. The fabric really suits you. I think you mean midriff, rather than cummerbund ;-) .

Beautiful dresses, I'm always on the hunt for dresses for work - although your first 2 show too much cleavage for that!
