Explanation: an urban legend in the Philippines🇵🇭; the Manananggal. Simply put, it can split its body in half with the lower body going in a safe place to hide and the upper body flying through the night sky to digest babies. It has a long, slim toungue that it slips through roof cracks as it inserts the toungue through the belly button of a pregnant woman to suck the fetus and digest it through the toungue. There's no way to stop it, but it's weakness is the lower half. If you find it, you can put salt on it, light it on fire, or just destroy it in any way to kill the Manananggal as it's upper half is known as immortal. They occasionally also eat whole things such as pets or people. Usually the baby though. That's how the story is usually retold. Yet damaging its lower half is dangerous as the Manananggal still knows where their lower half is, therefore, knowing where you are. Manananggal in English also means "Remover" as a person.

It is a Filipino creture, it's also known as "The Manananggal". A Manananggal is a beautiful lady at morning but quickly transform's into a half Human with black skin color and had wings with a long tongue, and also that the Manananggal hunt's pregnant woman at night and they use their tongue to take the baby out in the woman's body.
(This is the only explanation i can tell but hopefully understand it)

For those who dont know:Its an urban pegend in the phillipines.Wich it is called "Mananangal", At day its a ordinary girl/Boy but in night it becomes a mananangal. Usally its body splits into the upper half and lower half, The upper half goes to find food in order to live. But the lower half remains. They only do this in night to prevent humans from finding it. Theyre allergic to asin (salt) and hate bawang (i forgot what is that called) if you add asin to their lower half they will most likley die. ty if you read this!

As a Filipino Im always still a bit scared to go back(not that I don’t like Philippines) bcuz I actually experienced this in 2023 bcuz me and my family, friends that I met there just saw feet under a barrel I thought it was weird but i just thought i was a bit sugar high and then some neighbours yelled out “mananangal!” And said it was right next to me. My mother was pregnant at the time and they took my mother to safety while others were running around trying to find a lighter of something to kill it with. If you don’t believe me it’s okay but this story is real
