Paul, I wonder if you could describe how this bench differs from your previous workbench build series. That was a terrific set of videos.

I made this bench using your plan 5 years ago, and I still love working on it. I think the through tenons are my favorite personalization. Thank you again.

The thing that impresses me most about Paul Sellers videos is that although he has a lifetime of experience and skill he still understands the challenges of someone starting out, be it limited space, tools or knowledge. So different to many on YT who have huge workshops, vast arrays of expensive hand/power tools and years of experience of using them.

I was lucky a couple of years ago to stumble across Paul's first workbench series. I had not done any real woodworking since high-school but was able to learn and evolve via each video. I have now built 2 benches (one at home at one at my summer cottage) and used each of them for hundred of hours on different projects spanning from a baby cradle to hunting knifes. Anyone even remotely interested who has the space available basically own it to him-/herself to follow along and learn.

This series is great! There's plenty of workbench videos aimed at "beginners" that make use of a huge workshop, with a jointer, a planer, a table saw, a band saw, a drill press, a router and so on... They are irrealistic, if I had a fully supplied workshop I'd built a workbench ages ago!

Mr. Sellers is becoming one of favorite channels. High quality woodworking with basic tools.

Paul Sellers is what some would call the bees knees! Superbly fun to watch and learning his perspectives on woodworking is a venture most people can really appreciate.
Thank you Paul, for sharing a lifetime of experience as you do it selflessly!

I'm ready. Been acquiring some tools for the past 2 years. A chisel here, a chisel there. A second hand #4 plane, a few saws and some other hand tools. Been wanting to start some serious "real woodworking" for a long time. I really really need a simple SOLID bench. Gathering some materials now. Thanks so much Paul. I'm ready !

Paul, I just wanted to say that I've been woodworking off and on all my life for as many years as you, but I've never considered myself a "real" craftsman - even after all the pergolas and other projects I've completed over the years. After somehow stumbling upon your video series on YouTube a couple months ago, I finally discovered that I'm really not a true artist like yourself or my wife where you can create things in your head and make them come to life. But I am a pretty good trained monkey and I can usually duplicate someone else's designs simply from looking at how they completed the project or even the end result. This is where your series has truly made woodworking more fun in my more senior years. You step us thru every detail without "boring" us to death and make even the most difficult steps in a project look relatively easy. I especially like the fact that with the exception of speeding up on repeat tasks, you normally do not speed thru the steps in your projects. Thank you for making these videos for all of us trained monkeys out here. I hope you continue developing new series to keep us craftsmen wannabes honing our skills - especially those that explain further the reason why it isn't necessarily important to buy ALL our tools at one time to accomplish these types of projects as well as what non-powered tools we do need to have "fun" building with wood. Thanks again.

I just started woodworking, and finished reading & watching about other workbench build series.
and then I saw this new workbench build.
it's smaller, more suitable for me since I don't have much space.
I can't wait to see the new video on 17 november :)

Yes! I can't wait for this series.. I'm ready to build my own bench. I've been sorely needing one for my garage for the large number of projects that i have where a set of cheap saw horses or the garage floor just don't cut it. I have fond memories of the sturdy table my dad had in his garage with the sharpening/buffing motor mounted to it. It was big and ugly but served its purpose. The one you have in this intro is beautiful and is just the right size for me. I just finished watching the other workbench you put together in your back yard. Excellent craftsmanship! Looking forward to this build! Thank you very much for putting these videos together!

This is a tremendous bench. It is the most incredible bench you have ever seen. A genius bench - and a stable one at that.
I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.
