Peak iPhone 5 experience for me was downgrading it to iOS 8 just to properly dual boot it to iOS 7 on 16gb model just so I could run bioshock mobile because bioshock mobile doesn’t run on iOS 6 and it doesn’t run on iOS 8.4 and it also doesn’t run on phones with chipsets weaker than A5X

What coincidental timing, I just had to pull out my old iPhone 5 to reset my Pebble (the app wouldn’t work properly on my actual phone) and I’ve been playing around with it a little bit, it’s kinda cute :p honestly I miss small phones, the 5 is so much nicer to use than any modern phone today

Also, how did you get the Instagram app to work? I tried installing it, but when I login it just takes me to a blank screen(? page?)

Yes, the iPhone 5 is still usable today with iOS 10.3.3 or 10.3.4 eventhough its obsolete

I really like the iPhone 5, but it’s better to use it with iOS 8.4.1, especially since you can do an untethered downgrade. If you're lucky, you might even find one with iOS 6, which is best version of that iPhome. But if you're really set on using iOS 10, you’re better off getting the iPhone 5S instead. It’s also easy to do downgrade and the 64-bit CPU makes a huge difference in performance on iOS 10.

So the 5S on iOS 12 apparently can still run YouTube and WhatsApp making it barely useable. I have the OGSE which is still almost 100% usable in 2025 other than some banking apps becoming unsupported due to lack of security updates. Damn, I wish I could go back 10 years and use these phones again. My main is a 13 and it’s a completely brick in comparison.

I purchased a iphone 6 it has no system update in the settings is it fake. I can't down load any apps cause it always say I need iOS 15.1 but I can't upgrade cause it doesn't have system upgrade on the settings. Is my iphone fake how can I update it to iOS 15.1

in 4 minutes of use (mostly home screen) it dropped from 20% to 15% so not so sure about how usable would be
