Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie In Horrible ATV Accident - Britney Asks For Prayers For Her Niece

Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie was riding an ATV on Sunday before the Super Bowl which ended in every parent’s worst nightmare. The 8-year-old swerved to avoid a drainage ditch and flipped into a nearby pond and immediately went underwater.

Jamie Lynn and her husband reportedly came to Maddie’s rescue within seconds but struggled to free her from the vehicle’s safety belt and netting. Maddie was freed by paramedics when an ambulance arrived shortly after, and Maddie remains in critical condition in a New Orleans hospital.

PEOPLE magazine reports that a rep for the family claims the details the media are reporting surrounding the incident are incorrect. They allege Jamie Lynn was NOT with her daughter at the time of the accident.

But the details are hardly what’s important here, it’s about Maddie making a full recovery. Britney Spears broke her silence Monday and tweeted a photo of her niece pleading with fans writing, “Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece”.

Britney has reportedly flown to Louisiana to be with her family at this time. Their rep said the family is asking for people to QUOTE “respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.”

people keep saying an 8 year old shouldn't have been on an atv but from what I know, in the south it's common. my friend grew up in Georgia and she rode on atvs before she was 8. there are different places and families that do different things. right now why she was on the atv isn't important. her getting better is important.
