Chevron refinery workers go on strike in California

More than 500 workers at a Chevron Corp. refinery in Richmond went on strike early Monday in a contract dispute.

5% raise and safety issues fixed?! That's unreasonable!

Chevron knew they were going slap employees who worked throughout the entire pandemic while management stayed home due to safety concerns in the face with an offer (2.5%) that wouldn't come anywhere near the 7% inflation this year, otherwise they wouldn't have paid to train replacements for the last 12 months. Great replacements, already having flaring incidents within hours of taking over.

In the last 15 years Chevron has never once even met the cost of inflation, giving workers a pay cut via inflation with every new contract. Operators and tradesmen & tradeswomen can barely afford the gas they manufacture while Chevron was recently boasting about record profits and skyrocketing stock prices.

What's funny is if you make 100k it is 5k a year extra which the state and federal government will take in taxes anyways

Let's add another 50 cents a gallon. I am a Union supporter. But at this time it is not morally right to add to people's burdens. They shut down big oil will just make more prophet.
