Octopath Traveler was not a game that interested me. I usually have a really hard time getting myself to enjoy turn based combat and long winded stories. I'm more of the kinda gamer that wants to shoot em or slash em up quick in real time. I stumbled upon this song though and thought how much it reminded me of Chrono Trigger and Golden Sun music and I decided to give the demo a try. I actually ended up really enjoying it! The boost mechanic made it very fun for me.

This cover was a lot of fun because I think it fits the style I've been developing on this channel. I find the covers that sit the most comfortably for me is stuff like this so I found that between my love of the song and that, this cover came together very fast and I'm really proud of it. Hope you like the solo I came up with too, I'm starting to finally feel a bit proud of some of the solos I've been able to come up with. More soon if you guys dig it!

Next week I'm hopefully going to be bringing a buddy I've collaborated a lot with, but not necessarily actual video game music. This Tuesday that will finally change as we'll do one of my favorite credits themes together!

I'm the same as you, I'm usually never able to get into turn-based combat RPGs so I didn't know how much I would like Octopath. Then I played the prologue demo. Let's just say I was very sad when my 3 hours ran out.

The main battle theme really sounds like Baten Kaitos. A game everyone needs to have played! It's not just the best soundtrack, either. It's a more interesting JRPG to play than most.
