Very informative in a compact way, thanks! Question: can I put down soil like FStratum and keep it down with a thin cap layer of gravel like Eco-complete?

what do you think about eco complete as a base subtrate, and then using UNS contro soil as a top soil to hold the plants and let them root properly

Damn that thing is beautiful. I just set up my first 20 long planted . I used dirt and have black sand over it. It's leeching like mad my water is murky. Too much excess nutrition in there so doing water changes every day. I have jungle Val all allong the back wall. 2 Amazon swords and some pogostemons stallatus octopus on the left side. Left room in the middle for some cryptocoryne wendtii. Anyway I'm tuned is brother ✌️, forgot to add I have 3 packs of root tabs. Will put them in at 6 months and again every 3 months after. Looking to have a jungle and propogate for my other aquariums.

In my 5g should I do about 2 inches of this soil on its own or 1 inch of this and then 1 inch of basic black sand?

So I have a 36 gal rimless heavily planted tank with one betta in it to cycle. My ada aquasoil 2 has been releasing ammonia like crazy. But my betta is fine, no signs of distress and eating good. Do I still need large WC's everyother day or will the plants take care of that?

You put your own additives to the dirted aquarium and it'll last a few decades, go to Father fishes YouTube channel he shows you just how to mix it up using all the additives necessary iron, even osmocote etc
